Gaganvedhi is group of amateur astronomers at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. We conduct programs related to astronomy such as lectures, presentations, telescope making and handling, etc. at schools and colleges.

History of project
Gaganvedhi was inaugurated on September 16, 2006 (not on September 23, 2003). Prof. Dr. S.D. Madnaik inaugurated the Gaganvedhi group. On the same day, Manish Joglekar(founder of group) presented a slide-show on 'Journey of the Universe', which contained a priliminary introduction to solar system, stars, star-clusters and galaxies. He also explained the motivation behind starting this group at WCE and encouraged the attendees to join the same. The inaugural programme was attended by then-Principal Dr. S.D. Madnaik, then-HOD of Mechanical Department Mr. S.P. Chavan and Mr. J.G. Gajendragadkar (Faculty in the Mechanical Engineering Department). Round about 30 interested candidates were present for the programme.
Our Members
Our members are students of Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli. Also we have members from schools, colleges, professionals, etc. It is for anybody who is interested in Astronomy. We also have our branches at Kokhapur and Pune.
